Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Shruti.ai - Voice Journal ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Shruti.ai - Voice Journal is a voice-first, on-device journaling application for iOS. The App allows you to:
- Record voice journal entries with on-device transcription
- Create text-based journal entries and quick notes
- Auto-tag entries using on-device natural language processing
- Detect and create tasks from journal entries using on-device language models
- Set reminders and push notifications for tasks and daily journaling
- Export your journal data as Markdown files
- Optionally protect the App with Face ID or Touch ID
3. On-Device Processing
The App is designed to process all data on your device. Voice transcription, auto-tagging, sentiment analysis, and task detection use Apple's on-device frameworks (SFSpeechRecognizer, NaturalLanguage, FoundationModels). The App does not require an internet connection to function.
4. User Content
All content you create within the App — including journal entries, voice recordings, notes, tags, and tasks — belongs to you. The App stores this content locally on your device.
You are solely responsible for the content you create and any backups you choose to make.
5. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- Use the App's name, logo, or branding without permission
6. No Account Required
The App does not require you to create an account. There is no user registration, login, or cloud-based profile.
7. Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions:
- Microphone — to record voice entries
- Speech Recognition — to transcribe recordings on-device
- Notifications — to send daily reminders and task alerts
- Face ID / Touch ID — to enable optional biometric lock
You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings. Some features may not function without the required permissions.
8. Availability and Updates
The App is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may release updates that change features, fix bugs, or modify the App's behavior. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes.
9. Data Loss
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for maintaining backups. The developer is not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, app deletion, software updates, or other causes.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, or inability to use the App.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App will permanently remove all locally stored data.
13. Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple's built-in frameworks and services. Your use of those frameworks is governed by Apple's terms and conditions. The developer is not responsible for the behavior or availability of Apple's services.
14. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
